The benthic algal flora reported for the Revillagigedo Islands comprises specific infraspecific taxa: 42 Chlorophyta, 29 Phaeophyta and Rhodophyta. This insular flora shares taxa (54%) with other regions of the Mexican Pacific and 74 (36%) are restricted apparently to the islands.
Mexico’s Revillagigedo Archipelago National Park, located kilometers ( miles) south of the Baja California peninsula in the Pacific Ocean, is now North America’s largest fully protected marine reserve.
The park’s waters are home to species of fish, including 26 found nowhere else. They also serve as an important gathering place for large migratory species such as. An updated checklist of the Cerambycidae of Costa Rica is presented. This new version includes 1, species and subspecies in genera, 69 tribes, and six subfamilies.
